Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, and payment disputes for TVPerch bookings.

Version 1.1-draftLast updated: October 20, 2026Effective: upon administrator approval
This document is a plain-English draft prepared for review by an attorney experienced in nationwide service marketplaces. It is presented so customers and contractors can read how TVPerch operates. It is not attorney-approved legal advice, and final versions take effect only when approved and published by TVPerch.

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to both booking types TVPerch offers: the standard booking deposit (20% of the approved installation price, subject to state restrictions such as California's 10%-deposits-capped-at-$1,000 rule) and full upfront payment. The booking deposit is part of your total installation price, not a separate fee, and is credited toward the total. Where this policy refers to "the deposit," the same rules apply proportionately to full-payment bookings.

This policy describes TVPerch's intended cancellation model. It is subject to applicable consumer protection law and final administrator approval, and it does not override any statutory cancellation or refund right that applies to you.

2. Cancellations by You (72-Hour Window)

TVPerch measures cancellation timing backward from the start of your scheduled installation arrival window:

  • More than 72 hours before the appointment: cancellations generally qualify for a full refund of any amounts paid, subject to the terms you accepted at booking.
  • Within 72 hours of the appointment: the booking deposit may be forfeited, because a contractor has been reserved for your arrival window. Any amounts paid above the deposit are refunded.
  • Short-notice bookings (booked less than 72 hours before the requested window): because a contractor is reserved immediately, the cancellation terms that apply are disclosed to you before payment, and the deposit may be nonrefundable from the moment of booking where the terms you accepted so provide.

The cancellation terms that apply to your booking are disclosed to you before you authorize payment, and the version you accepted is recorded with your booking. Where consumer law in your state limits deposit forfeiture, that law controls.

3. Rescheduling by You

You may request to reschedule by contacting TVPerch before your appointment. Rescheduling with reasonable notice (at least 72 hours before the appointment) is generally free. TVPerch does not currently charge a rescheduling fee. Rescheduling requested within 72 hours of the appointment may be treated under the cancellation rules in Section 2, because a contractor may already be committed to your window; where the new time cannot be accommodated and the original window cannot be reinstated, the deposit may be forfeited under the same limits.

4. If TVPerch Cannot Fulfill the Installation

If TVPerch cannot secure an appropriate contractor for your market or otherwise cannot provide the service you purchased, you will be notified and every amount you have paid (deposit or full payment) will be refunded in full. Availability varies by market, and TVPerch will be honest with you about coverage rather than promise a booking it cannot deliver.

5. Installer Cancellation or Unavailability

If an assigned installer cancels or becomes unavailable, TVPerch will first try to reassign the job to another qualified contractor in your market, coordinated with you. If reassignment is not possible for your dates, any amounts you have paid will be refunded in full, or, if you prefer, your booking will be rescheduled. Contractor unavailability is TVPerch's operational responsibility to resolve, and it does not reduce your refund rights.

6. Customer No-Show or Access Problems

An authorized adult age 18 or older must be present throughout the installation and must provide access to the work area. If no authorized adult is present, access cannot be provided, or the work area is not available as described at booking, the installer may be unable to begin the work. In that case:

  • TVPerch will attempt to reach you and, where the installer's schedule allows, wait or reschedule.
  • If the appointment cannot be completed because of access problems, the booking deposit may be forfeited, because the contractor reserved and traveled for the window.
  • Any amounts paid above the deposit are refunded, because the installation was not performed.

7. Installation Cannot Be Completed On-Site

If the installation cannot be completed because of unsafe conditions, incompatible equipment, inadequate mounting hardware, restricted wall surfaces, or other circumstances described in our Installation Requirements & Service Policy, the installer will document the situation. TVPerch will review what work, if any, was performed and will refund amounts collected for work not performed, minus the portion of the price attributable to any completed work. Where TVPerch determines that the failure resulted from information that was inaccurate at booking, the cancellation rules in Section 2 may apply. Every outcome is communicated to you in writing.

8. Partial Refunds

Approved partial refunds are calculated from the amounts actually collected for your booking (deposit, final balance, and/or full payment records) minus the value of work actually performed, as reviewed by TVPerch. The refund amount and the reason are communicated to you by email before processing. Partial refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe; partial refunds never mark a booking fully refunded, and the remaining balance, if any, reflects only work performed or still scheduled.

9. Completed Installations

A properly completed installation is generally not refundable. When the contractor completed the authorized installation, the required completion documentation exists, the service was performed satisfactorily, payment was collected correctly, and no material unresolved service issue exists, the booking is considered fulfilled and a refund is not a standard remedy.

Refund requests made after a completed installation are reviewed as exceptions by TVPerch administration, such as a duplicate or erroneous billing correction, a refund legally required of TVPerch, documented defective or incomplete workmanship, verified damage or service failures warranting a remedy, or an administrator-approved settlement or adjustment. Concerns about workmanship, damage, or safety are reviewed through our Damage Claims & Service Concerns process; not every complaint results in a refund, and remedies may also include corrective work. Nothing in this section removes any right or remedy that applicable law provides to you.

Every refund TVPerch issues, in any circumstance, is reviewed, approved, and initiated manually by an authorized administrator. TVPerch never issues refunds automatically.

10. Payment Disputes

If you have a billing concern, please contact TVPerch first through the form on our Contact page so we can review the payment records and work to resolve it directly. Most billing questions can be resolved quickly this way. You retain any dispute rights your payment provider or applicable law provides; opening a payment dispute does not forfeit your ability to work with TVPerch toward a resolution.

11. How Refunds Are Processed

Refunds are issued administratively by TVPerch through Stripe to the original payment method. Refund timing to your bank or card statement is controlled by your payment provider. Where a contractor has already been paid and a refund is approved, TVPerch handles the recovery from the contractor separately; that process never affects the refund owed to you.

12. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits a cancellation, rescission, or refund right that applies to you under federal or state law, including home-improvement consumer protections in states such as California. Where this policy and applicable law differ, the law controls.
